Huawei to Start Manufacturing Smartphone in India

by Woody Oh | 10月 05, 2016

Huawei officially announced it will start manufacturing smartphones in India in collaboration with the leading global electronics manufacturer, Flextronics Technologies India, from the first week of October 2016, and the first smartphone will be highly likely Honor-branded affordable device customized for price-conscious market.

In addition to this, it is said that Huawei will be strengthening its after sales services in India with over 200 service centers, including more than 30 exclusive Huawei service centers in India.

Our Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) service is tracking a number of smartphone vendors doing the smartphone business in India, and Huawei has not done a good job in India according to our India tracker, so it remains to be seen whether these two initiatives would be able to enhance Huawei's smartphone market share and stance in India down the road.
