Egypt, one of the densely-populated countries in Africa and
the 6th biggest smartphone market in Africa and Middle East region, is rapidly rising as the new hub for
smartphone assembly site as a few leading Chinese smartphone vendors including
Huawei, Oppo and Tecno Mobile (Transsion) are in constant talks with Egyptian government to establish their smartphone assembly plants in Egypt soil.
While this bid is going to impact the Egypt smartphone market dynamics as this country has been heavily depending on the imports so far, those Chinese vendors could
shorten the time-to-market and
lower the production costs for smartphones distributed within AME region.
