According to the recent report, '
Global LTE Handset Vendor Shipments by Country: Q1 2016', published under Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) service,
China remains the world's biggest LTE handset market for seven consecutive quarters in a row, ahead of
the United States.
Though China is undoutedly having a dominant market share in global LTE handset market, its dominace is slowly losing out to the
Rest of World, such as
most of West European countries and
some of emerging countries including India.
India, in particular, has rapidly increased its LTE handset penetration out of total handsets shipped during the quarter,
to become the world's 3rd largest LTE handset market for the quarter,
ahead of Japan and South Korea, based on
the bigger role of operators in LTE handset distribution,
intensified competition among the vendors and the introduction of 4G LTE network across the country.
