Huawei's Plan to Assemble Smartphones in Egypt Up and Running

by Woody Oh | 12月 11, 2015

Huawei, the world's 3rd biggest smartphone vendor, is planning to set up its own factory in Egypt to build smartphones for African countries including Egypt and Middle East Arabian countries.

Huawei is the 2nd largest smartphone vendor in Egypt at the moment, capturing more than 10% market share, based on the country tracker published by Handset Country Share Tracker. The low to mid-tier smartphones such as Ascend G and Y series devices are sold very popularly in this country. The factory in Egypt will help to cut down on the cost of the smartphones delivered to not only Egypt and African market but also the countries based in the Middle East.
