by Rajeev Nair | 10月 15, 2015

Samsung Z3, the second TIZEN powered smartphone launched in India by the vendor, targets the mid-price tier, while its first one, the Z1 was positioned in the entry segment. Priced at US$ 120 (wholesale) the Dual-SIM device offers better specifications (5-inch, 720p display, 1.3GHz quad-core processor from Spreadtrum, 1GB of RAM, 5-megapixel front camera and an 8-megapixel rear camera and 2,600 mAh battery) compared to its predecessor.

Another key differentiator is the application and services support that Samsung has provided to Z3. The device running on TIZEN OS v2.4, boasts of the newly developed ‘My Galaxy’ app and Mix Radio services. TIZEN still has a long way to go, to match the ecosystem support its rivals have. The platform was ranked 5th for the first time ever, with a growth of +300% QoQ, in our latest report (Global Smartphone OS Market Share by Region: Q2 2015).
