Xiaomi Struggled to Gain Smartphone Share in India During Q2 2015

by Woody Oh | 8月 07, 2015

According to the latest report, 'Global Smartphone Vendor Marketshare for 15 Countries: Q2 2015', recently published under our Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) service, Xiaomi struggled to inch up its smartphone market share in India during the quarter, the biggest market for Xiaomi outside of its home China market.

While Xiaomi has remained one of the major smartphone players in China market for the last two years, this Chinese tech giant has gone through a handful of barriers in India since its official launch back in July last year, such as patent infringement issues, delivery problems, lack of its strength manipulating online distributional channels, lack of resources, intensified competition against local brands such as Micromax and Intex, and lower brand awareness than its home China market, impacting its smartphone market share growth and its overseas market expansion strategy.

Xiaomi's specific smartphone market share in India can be viewed at this report, available to our HCST service clients.
