According to the report,
USA Smartphone Vendor Marketshare by Operator: Q1 2015, published on our
Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) service,
LG and
Verizon Wireless are estimated to work closely in smartphone segment for the recent quarters, with
LG's smartphone shipment units at Verizon posting triple-digit growth annually for FOUR consecutive quarters since Q2 2014.
LG's smartphone market share at Verizon Wireless was under 10% prior to Q1 2014, but it started to grow sharply, and reached
the record-high market share in Q1 2015, slowly closing the market share gap with top 2 vendors, Apple and Samsung.
It is estimated that LG is doing quite well in both premium and lower-priced segments,
meeting the most needs of Verizon's clients in terms of camera quality, design, user-friendly UI/UX and the call/data quality. Among the top 3 smartphone suppliers for Verizon Wireless,
LG is more focusing on capturing the growing market demand at affordable price-points segment, supplying plenty of feature-rich, high-performing, but price-friendly smartphones such as
G Vista and
Lancet, a Windows Phone based LG smartphone priced below US$100 wholesale, which is
the first Windows Phone smartphone distributed by Verizon Wireless in 2015.
