Germany Mobile Phone Shipments Grow 9%

by Neil Mawston | 6月 15, 2015

Germany's mobile phone market grew +9% YoY in Q1 2015, mainly due to robust demand for Apple iPhones. Samsung retained its number one spot in Germany, but it was pressured by Apple and others. Apple gained traction with its larger-sized iPhone 6 series, to keep its no.2 position for the tenth consecutive quarter in Germany, and also becoming the no.1 vendor at T-Mobile. Meanwhile Sony and Nokia (Microsoft) continued to compete for no.3 position. LG didn't manage to grow its market share YoY while Lenovo-Motorola grow its shipments YoY.

Our published report -- available to clients here -- tracks quarterly cellphone vendor market share at the three major German operators -- T-Mobile, Vodafone, O2 (E-Plus) -- from Q1 2009 to Q1 2015.

The report is an important tool for measuring the health of individual handset brands at the operator level.
