In the newly published report : Global Smartphone Shipments by Family / Model : Q1 2014 from our Handset Country Share Tracker (HCST) services, Apple iPhone 5S ranked the top one with volume share of 9% in Q1 2014. iPhone 4S ranked the second slot with nearly 4% volume share this quarter.

Samsung Galaxy series still maintained the top-selling family worldwide, but premium tier model Galaxy S4 and Note 3 slipped on the list and saw declined volume share this quarter. In contrast, mid tier mode Gand II and Trend series outperformanced the above two premium tier flagship models driven by the healthy demand in emering markets.

Xiaomi is rising quickly, its Redmi (Hongmi) phone jumped into the top 9 slot, up from the tenth position last quarter.
