Healthy CAGR for EMS/ODM from 2010 to 2023

The Cumulative Average Growth Rate (CAGR) for EMS/ODM made handsets from 2010 to 2023 is healthy, which indicates steady growth for the industry. As vendors continue to streamline organizations and supply chain management, more and more manufacturing will be shifted to contract manufacturers.
Lower-end handsets and feature phones are now mostly manufactured via Electronic Manufacturing Services (EMS) and Original Design Manufacturer (ODM) companies.

Overall contract manufacturing grew past in-house and has continued to grow as vendors seek relief from increasing manufacturing costs.

Due to Global COVID-19 pandemic volumes decreased in 2020 and because of lesser impact of global COVID-19 pandemic in 2021 market returned to growth with marginal increase as the market is recovering the volumes are estimated to jump back in 2023.
