  • 5G is growing in all regions but growth is slowing down.
  • Apple continues as the leading 5G device vendor.
  • Samsung is globally the fastest growing major vendor catching up to Apple.
    • Samsung outgrew all major rivals in Asia pacific improving market share from 5.6% to 14.2% YoY.

  • Xiaomi has managed to solidify its position as world’s third largest 5G vendor.
  • Oppo and Vivo suffered notably big decline in shipments as Vivo’s and Oppo’s 5G smartphone volumes declined in double digits in Q1 2022.
    • Both vendors lost ground in key markets of China and India due intensified competition.
  • Honor and Realme are the top gainers, taking volumes from Oppo and Vivo in India and China.
  • Central and Latin America was the fastest growing region.
  • TCL-Alcatel was the fastest growing vendor, but its volumes are still small compared to main vendors.
