China's foldable display smartphone market in 2021 was dominated by Samsung, which captured the majority of sales there last year. Despite offerings from Huawei, OPPO and Xiaomi, it was Samsung with its superb Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Z Flip 3 that Chinese consumers were most likely to buy.
That said, 2022 is looking to be vastly different. The Chinese foldable display smartphone market is set to see sales growth in triple digits year-to-year in 2022. A host of new foldable offerings from Chinese vendors are hitting the market. Vivo is just the latest, with its newly introduced X Fold going on sale April 22 in China.
