Mobile World Congress (MWC Barcelona) - the largest and arguably the most important mobile industry event – is back again, taking place in Barcelona, Spain, from Feb 28 to Mar 3, exhibiting plethora of new devices and setting the hottest trends in 2022.
As usual, Strategy Analytics will be there, and if you want to meet our DEVICES analysts at the show, click here.
On Day One, we are turning our attention to some interesting devices from OPPO, HMD (Nokia), TCL and Honor demoed at the show.
OPPO: The Chinese vendor launched three new devices as part of its flagship Find X5 series -- Find X5 Pro, Find X5 and Find X5 Lite.
The self-developed MariSilicon X imaging chip makes for a top camera, which was developed in partnership with Hasselblad. With its unique ceramic backplate and refined curvy design, Find X5 Pro looks and feels very stylish. 80W fast charging allows the 5000mAh battery to charge from 0% to 50% for only 12 mins, one of the best in the industry.
OPPO Find X5 Pro is certainly an amazing device, but with a retail price of €1,299 (£1,049 in UK) it will find some stiff competition in the likes of the very popular Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.

HMD (Nokia): Just a couple of weeks after the launch of the mid-range Nokia G11 and Nokia G21, HMD announced three new smartphones from its affordable end C-series – the Nokia C21, Nokia C21 Plus and Nokia C2 2nd Edition.
By combining durable design, long-lasting battery and regular Android updates, with the C- series HMD makes sure it provides longevity at the lowest possible price points. Nokia C21 Plus comes with 5050 mAh battery, which can last for up to three days, and IP52 rating and a toughened cover glass for additional protection.
The extra longevity doesn’t necessarily come for an extra price. Nokia C21 Plus variants start at retail price of €119, Nokia C21 starts from €99, and Nokia C2 2nd Edition starts from €79. They will be available in selected markets from April.
