OPPO introduced today, in China, its prototype Wireless Air Charging (WAC) accessory for smartphones.

OPPO WAC will enable your 5G handset to recharge its battery in thin air, by magnetic resonance, up to 10cm away from the charging mat, with 7.5W of charging power.

OPPO WAC is a short-range, low-power, wire-free recharging pad.

The Chinese smartphone brands are very keen on wireless charging and clearly foresee a wire-free future for batteries. The "battery wars" are in full swing.
