5G smartphones accounted for more than 1 in 10 smartphones shipped in North America in Q1 2020. A single vendor, Samsung, accounted for the vast majority of all smartphones shipped in the region.

The USA is the major consumer of 5G smartphones in the region, accounting for nearly all 5G smartphones shipped to the region. 

Apple will not begin shipping 5G smartphones until Q4 2020, but when it does it will have a major impact on the 5G market in North America. Will Apple be able to dethrone Samsung in 5G smartphones in the USA and Canada?
