LTE Handset Revenues Growing at a Healthy Pace

by Ken Hyers | 8月 29, 2018

Global LTE handset revenues grew at a healthy 8% annual pace in Q2 2018. LTE handsets now make up nearly 4 out of 5 handsets shipped globally, according to the latest research from Strategy Analytics. Apple maintained its lead as the world's largest LTE handset vendor by value, but fell to third place in Q2 2018 in terms of LTE handsets shipped as Huawei took over 2nd place for the first time ever. Samsung, the world's largest vendor by handset shipment volumes took second place in terms of LTE handset revenues.

While Apple and Samsung hold the top two spot in terms of revenues from LTE handsets, Huawei is moving up quickly and now ranks 3rd globally. While Chinese firms now make up 6 of the top 10 handset vendors in terms of LTE handset revenues, Huawei's revenue in the category is nearly double that of its closest Chinese competitor. However its wholesale ASP for LTE handsets is well below the industry leaders and outside of the top-10 rankings in this category.

The Emerging Device Technologies report Global LTE Handset Revenue and ASP by Vendor : Q2 2018 provides detailed information about the leading LTE global handset vendors by shipment, revenue and wholesale ASP.
