Facial Recognition is Rapidly Becoming a Key Smartphone Authentication Technology

by Ken Hyers | 8月 21, 2018

Smartphone security and authentication is ever more important. In the early days of smartphones users used passwords, PINs, and pattern-swipes to unlock their devices and applications. Now biometrics are commonly used to authenticate smartphone owners. Currently there are four major biometric authentication solutions in modern smartphones: Voice, Face, Eye and Fingerprint. Fingerprint authentication is by far the most common, present in more than half of all smartphones, while facial recognition is the second most common authentication technology available.
