Huawei Launches New Honor 8 To The Lineup

Huawei has unveiled the new successor for the popular Honor series, the Honor 8. The device is equipped with Kirin 950 processor, 5.2-inch 1080p touchscreen, and a dual-12 MP camera setup on the back. Device supports dual-SIM and has global 4G supported. A fingerprint scanner is on the back and USB Type-C with USB2.0 has replaced micro USB port.

Huawei is currently the third largest smartphone vendor by volume and value and is growing faster than industry. Previous Honor models have been very successful and there is no doubt that Huawei will do well with this latest iteration as well. Huawei has nearly all smartphones supporting 4G making Huawei the third largest 4G LTE device vendor.

Huawei has Dual-SIM in several models with dual action slot where user can either use the second slot for secondary SIM or memory card. Dual-SIM is one of the growing enabling technologies Strategy Analytics follows closely and is forecasted to grow from 28% share in 2015 to 51% share by 2022. 

Dual camera setuip in the back is something Huawei has long been supporting and has several models out with such setup. Dual cameras are forecasted to grow from 1% share in 2015 to 20% share of all handsets by 2022.
