Xiaomi Expands Smartphones Push in Taiwan

by Ville-Petteri Ukonaho | 7月 11, 2016

Xioami has launched the 6.44 inch phablet Xiaomi Mi Max in Taiwan. The device was launched in China mainland mid May and in India in the end of June and now Xiaomi is bringing the device to Taiwanese markets.

Xiaomi is struggling in China  and tries to expand it reach to other markets. Fierce competition from OPPO, vivo and others  in home market has pushed Xiaomi to seek growth from other markets such as India, which is getting crowded, as other vendors are also pushing devices to that huge market.

Xiaomi has plans to expand its global reach but is currently struggling to grow with declining volumes, so seeking volumes from growing markets is a priority.Taiwan market is currently 9.0 million handset annually but is forecasted to grow up to 9.5 million by 2022.

In addition to Mi Max smartphone Xiaomi launched the Mi Air Purifier 2 and the Mi Smart LED Lamp and plans to launch more devices to the market in the future which highlights the importance of the market.
