Global Phablet Forecasts: 2003 to 2017

According to our Wireless Device Strategies (WDS) service, global phablet sales will grow over 1000% between 2012 and 2017.

Postpaid users are upgrading to phablets and super-phablets with bigger screens for enhanced usability or as status symbols, particularly in Asia. Models such as Samsung Note 2 and Sony Xperia Z Ultra lead the way.

This published report is available to clients and forecasts global handset sales by type from 2003 to 2017. We identify which categories will grow at above-average rates during the next five years. Types of devices covered include phablets, superphones, smartphones, smart feature phones, standard feature phones and basic phones.
