Natural language processing is part of artificial intelligence which handles communication between human and machine. It is continuously evolving to appear as though a human is speaking to another human, whether it be in text form or spoken verbally, resulting in a less human to machine feeling and a more human to human-like experience. Voice recognition services have improved significantly over the past several years continuing to allow users to think less about what they have to say something or how they have to say something and rely on a more organic, more natural approach to speaking to machines throughout the home, personal devices, and in the car. This report highlights some of the broad and specific advancements of natural language processing which Strategy Analytics feels will have the most impact on future use cases around human to device communication and HMI.
