The majority of consumers in the US and Western Europe are unsure or unfamiliar with the term high-resolution audio (HRA).  Though familiarity with the term is low, interest in HRA on a smartphone across both regions is high.  Males and early technology adopters are likely to engage in HRA in early stages, on smartphones.   Despite great interest overall, willingness to pay additional amounts for HRA is low, so device manufacturers such as HTC, LG, and Sony are looking to include HRA technology in their flagship devices to serve as differentiators amongst their competitors.
