Report Summary:

Can Mobile Operators compete effectively with large fixed service providers offering Quad Play? To answer this we created competitive product/service bundle scenarios using the Strategy Analytics Tariff Response Model(TRM).

We looked at one competitive option in detail - a new version of ‘Triple Play’ – Mobile Broadband plus Home Internet Broadband and Home Phone we call ‘Mobile Broadband Triple Play’. A combination that 4G networks will soon be able to deliver.

Part 1 of the report analysed the combinations of services purchased today.

Part 2 uses the Scenario results to project how Mobile Broadband Triple Play (MBTP) and Quad Play compete with one another in the six different countries. This report summarizes the subscriber and annual revenue potential for each country at the selected price points. Willingness to switch to MBTP and Quad Play services varies significantly by country. For example :

- In Germany 2.5 Million subscriber households would consider switching
- In US 4.8 million subscriber households are interested in switching to MBTP
- Quad Play appears to be attractive primarily in Italy and US

Shortly we will also be publishing competitor brand share results for each of the six countries.
