Despite strong growth in smartphone and tablet subscriptions, Strategy Analytics forecasts 2.2x growth for global active mobile broadband PC/modem subscriptions from 2012 to 2017 to reach 420 million. LTE as well as more favorable pricing plans will be the main drivers. Service revenues will grow slower than subscriptions- 1.3x from 2012 to 2017. Data traffic on mobile networks from PC/modems will reach nearly 15 million Terabytes in 2017, as the global average revenue per Gigabyte drops from US$9.72 down to $3.76.

This report forecasts global active mobile broadband PC/modem subscriptions, revenue and data traffic for computing devices such as notebooks/netbooks using external or internal modem (excluding tablets) from 2007 to 2017.
