Multiplay Bundled Services: Subscriber Forecasts

下载报告

Report Summary:

Multiplay service bundling has driven global operator consolidation efforts, as service providers seek to reduce churn, increase ARPU, and offer new services to customers.  Creating double, triple, and quad-play service options has been a proven strategy for achieving these goals, and customers have been drawn to the cost savings, especially as global economic conditions were recovering over the past few years.  Once a customer is engaged in a multi-service bundle, they are much less likely to switch providers as they enjoy the cost savings as well as other benefits which vary by operator and region.  As an example, some operators offer additional data allowances for mobile plans if the customer also has a fixed broadband service.

Telco operators have been drivers of the bundled service packages, but cable operators are also creating momentum in the market.  For those telco operators who don't have an IPTV service, partnerships with satellite providers create opportunities for triple and quad-play offerings.  At the same time, cable operators have partnered with mobile service providers to create quad-play packages.  Mergers and acquisitions are also driving the availability of bundles, as traditional fixed and mobile providers are acquiring other operators to round out their capabilities as well as moving into other countries and regions.

The Multiplay Forecast provides market coverage for 10 countries across Western Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific.  The database provides history and forecasts including: Total Households, Total Multiplay Households, and breakouts for Double Play, Triple Play, and Quad Play Subscriptions.
