LTE deployment is accelerating as multiple obstacles are overcome, capacity grows and performance increases.

Spectrum is being allocated – faster in some regions than others; interoperability is being tested; and multi-mode devices that fall back to 3G where there are coverage problems, are becoming available.

New 3GPP Releases will enhance features capacity and spectrum efficiency for both HSPA+ and LTE next generation infrastructure.

Many heavily invested 3G operators will upgrade their existing Networks for several years with new 3GPP Releases and Multiple Input-Multiple Output (MIMO) capabilities to get a significant proportion of the capacity and performance benefits of LTE. However, those who have only deployed 2.5 G data networks or who are establishing 'greenfield' operations are moving fast to LTE networks.
