VNF Ecosystem Vendors Compared – Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia and Oracle

下载报告

Report Summary:

NFV is steadily being deployed commercially, but many Virtual Network Functions (VNFs) are still Virtual Machine (VM) versions of legacy siloed appliances. Last year however, we saw many of the leading vendors – Ericsson, Huawei and Nokia – begin to ship ‘Cloudified’ software solutions that will scale reliably for multiple software only functions.

Now Communications Service Providers (CSPs) are demanding their vendors evolve new software VNFs that are ‘Cloud Native’ to create a VNF ecosystem where processing can be anywhere and VNFs from multiple vendors interoperate without loss of performance.

While it may take many years to achieve that vision, several vendors are moving aggressively. Huawei was an early leader in promoting an ‘All Cloud’ approach that leveraged software in new ways and has been able to exploit its IT expertise to accelerate its CT business.

This report evaluates what four vendors – Ericsson, Huawei, Nokia and Oracle - are doing to meet the CSP requirements for ‘Cloud Native’ Next Generation VNF ecosystems.
