High levels of trust in operator text messaging reported by Indian Android smartphone owners bodes well for RCS, the evolved operator messaging service. Operator text messaging ranked as the second most trusted messaging channel after email for financially sensitive, time sensitive and mobile marketing communications. Conversely, trust in OTT messaging services like WhatsApp, HIKE and Snapchat was more limited. This insight provides the results of our AppOptix panel survey on B2C communications preferences and the implications for operator’s RCS plans.
