Report Summary:

The Digital Media Global Competition Review provides an in-depth analysis of the results published in Strategy Analytics' Digital Media Index (DMI).  DMI compiles digital media revenue figures from the quarterly financial filings of 44 publicly traded companies across games, video, music, and social media.

After seeing a modest recovery in Q2 2020, digital media revenues took off in Q3 2020. Among companies tracked, digital media revenue was $162.4B in Q3 2020, up 11.6% QoQ.

After a historically bad Q2 2020, Google regained market share in Q3 2020, though long-term it is still trending downward. Driven largely by digital advertising, up $7.2B, Google saw its digital media revenue grow 20.6% QoQ in Q3 2020.

Combined, Google ($7.8B), Facebook ($2.7B) and Amazon ($1.6B) accounted for 64% of the net gain in digital media revenue in Q3 2020 among companies tracked.
