SVOD services add over 169 million subscriptions worldwide in 2021, reaching over 1.25 billion subscriptions. By 2027, the total number of SVOD subscriptions globally will 1.87 billion. Global SVOD service (i.e., Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Disney+, Apple TV+, and HBO/HBO MAX OTT) accounted for 42% of global SVOD subscriptions in 2021. Led by China, the Asia Pacific region accounted for 46% of total SVOD subscriptions, followed by North America with 33%.
