Strategy Analytics' VOD Service Performance Benchmarking Report analyzes quarterly subscribers, monthly active user (MAU), and revenue trends for 36 publicly traded SVOD and AVOD services. Services added to the tracker in in Q2 2021 include Foxtel NOW, Kayo Sport, and Binge. Also new is revenue forTencent Video, Crunchyroll, and HUB+.
Global SVOD subscriptions passed the 1B mark (1,036.6B) in Q2 2021, up 56.7M QoQ, among SVOD services tracked. Leading the way was Disney+, with 12.4M net adds, Amazon Prime Video (6.6M), and the combined ViacomCBS SVOD services (6.5M). With 209.1M subscribers, Netflix is still the largest single SVOD service by a comfortable margin, however with 177.4M subscribers across Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+, Disney is nipping at Netflix heels as the largest SVOD company.
