Report Summary:

Global digital media market revenues continued to grow in the second quarter expanding 19%, with revenues from DMI companies reaching $43.7 billion from $36.7 billion in Q2 2013, equal to a 263% increase from index base period Q4 2006. Twenty two companies managed to beat year on year quarterly index growth. Twitter, Qihoo, Facebook, Baidu and Blizzard Entertainment lead index growth signaling solid growth across online advertising, social networking and online games sectors. In terms of segments, online games, online video and digital advertising were the top performing sectors in the quarter at 33 %, 24.7% and 24.3 per cent growth respectively. In terms of trailing twelve month revenues (TTM), DMI grew 4.3% from the previous quarter to reach $168.9 billion, equal to a 327 % increase from the index base year 2006. Twenty one companies managed to beat year on year TTM index growth of 16.1 %—Qihoo, Twitter, Facebook, Walt Disney Interactive Media, and Pandora lead the way. As of Q2 2014 we are introducing the DMI Companies Ranking based on DMI companies’ revenues and year-over year growth analysis. We are also including digital media sector analysis which illustrate a better view of how each company contribute to each sector’ growth on quarterly and TTM basis.
