Report Summary:

The second quarter of 2020 brought a 10% YoY decline in global B2B smartphone shipments. Challenges and disruptions were seen across many markets with US, Spain, Italy, UK, France, Brazil, India, and Russia experiencing sharp quarterly declines. Although the overall market remains in decline, the performance towards the end of the second quarter in South Korea, Japan, and some parts of Europe, indicates that demand is starting to pick up, as the market began to slowly stabilize again with countries exiting lockdown. Worldwide B2B tablet shipments recorded a notable 14.8% year-on-year and 41.9% quarter-on-quarter increase in Q2 2020. The increase in demand in Q2 2020, boosted by businesses wanting affordable access to computing power and larger screens to facilitate remote work and e-learning. All regions recorded strong positive growth. Some verticals, like education, healthcare, and government performed better than initially expected, mainly in mobilizing resources to provide devices as a response to remote work requirements in their organizations.
