Global smartwatch revenues in Q4 2016 were up an impressive 91% QoQ with the industry ARPU averaging US$300. #1 Apple had a very strong fourth quarter over the Western Holiday Season, taking more than three quarters of total global smartwatch revenues after it's first full quarter of Apple Watch Series 1 and 2 availability. Apple and Huawei have met some success with high-end smartwatches, but it is the sub-US$500 segment that counts for 3 of every 4 units sold and, more than 50% of dollars spent.
