Global smartwatch revenues in Q2 2018 were up 53% YoY while the industry ARPU fell to US$272.  Increased volumes more than offset the falling ASPs to produce strong revenue growth after the successful launch of the more affordable Fitbit Versa. Apple remains the revenue leader, while Samsung held steady after a strong Q1.  Apple and Huawei have met limited success with ultra high-end smartwatches, therefore it is the sub-US$500 segment that counts for roughly 8 of every 10 units sold and, more than 63% of dollars spent. Our report tracks smartwatch revenues and shipments market share for leading vendors by quarter from 2013 to Q2 2018.
