Strategy Analytics tracked global smartphone shipments (sell in) improved +5% MoM but declined -7% YoY in November 2018 mainly due to saturated smartphone penetration rate and extended replacement cycle. Moreover, sales (sell through) to end users posted a -9% annual decline too, indicating weaker consumer demand in key markets such as China and US. Inventory slightly decreased from last month but still post a relative higher inventory level for Apple and some other OEMs. Samsung top both shipment and sales chart this month. Apple ranked the second place by shipment but yielded to Huawei by sales volumes.
