Global smartphone shipments grew 5% annually in Q3 2017. The new and emerging "Next Forty Five (45)" markets that we track accounted for 23% of all smartphone volumes worldwide. Samsung led in 31 out of 45 countries. Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam were ranked the top three of the forty five, in terms of shipments in the quarter. The 45 "new" countries tracked include: Argentina, Algeria, Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Belgium, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, Ecuador, Egypt, Finland, Ghana, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Iran, Israel, Kenya, Malaysia, Morocco, Myanmar, Netherlands, Nigeria, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Switzerland, Sweden, Singapore, Taiwan, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkey, UAE, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Vietnam.
