2017 Z-Wave Summit Keynote Presentation – May 18 2017

This presentation was delivered at the 2017 Z-Wave Summit in Copenhagen, Denmark to members of the Z-Wave Alliance in attendance. The event was attended by approximately 120 members plus representatives from Sigma Designs. The presentation focuses on the opportunity for device manufacturers in the smart home market – not just those building Z-Wave compliant devices, but all device manufacturers.

The presentation addresses some of the key drivers in the smart home market, especially the popularity of Intelligent Home Speakers (e.g. Amazon Echo and Google Home) and the artificial intelligence technology behind these assistants. It presents Strategy Analytics’ latest global smart home forecasts with a breakdown of device sales. Finally, it highlights opportunities for device manufacturers to reach beyond device revenues alone and to implement recurring revenue business models that wrap around their device offerings.
