Consumer demand for connected TV devices in the US has been strong throughout the pandemic as households looked to improve and expand their home entertainment set ups during the extended periods of lockdown. However, that growth in demand showed signs of slowing during Q2 2021 as Covid restrictions eased and consumers started to prioritise out of home  experiences. Subsequently, spending patterns have shifted and consumer electronics are not at the top of as many people's shopping lists. Overall connected TV device shipments grew by 5% year over year to 21.2 million units but that was significantly down on the 33% growth seen in Q1 2021 and 17% in Q4 2020.

This report provides quarterly shipment and installed base vendor shares for the USA across the four Connected TV Device categories of Smart TVs, Smart Blu-ray players, IP-enabled Game Consoles and Digital Media Streamers.
