MWC 2019 Outlines Changes in Radios & Components to Come with 5G



Report Summary:

MWC 2019 brought us more than 27 new 5G devices, an increased interest in active infrastructure antennas and mmW repeaters, and an abundance of 5G beamforming component suppliers.

Qualcomm pushed hard against the other RF front-end component suppliers, announcing front-end tuning improvements that will leverage the company’s strength in radio chipsets for mobile devices.  Despite their early lead in 5G, Qualcomm will have competition in 5G chipsets much sooner than was the case for LTE.
