Smartphone On-Device AI Chip Market Share Tracker Q3 2019: AI Penetration Exceeds 50 percent

Shipments of global smartphone apps processors (AP) with on-device artificial intelligence (AI) or neural network processing functionality continue to show strong growth and grew 36 percent year-on-year in Q3 2019.  Apple, HiSilicon, MediaTek, Qualcomm and Samsung System LSI accounted for almost all of the applications processors with on-device AI.  Strategy Analytics estimates that on-device AI penetration in smartphone APs reached 55 percent in Q3 2019. This report tracks quarterly shipments of key smartphone AI AP chips for major vendors from Q1 2016 to Q1 2020.
