At its 3nd annual Snapdragon Tech Summit in Maui, Qualcomm has announced its new 5G-centric 7nm-based Snapdragon 855 mobile platform, a successor to its Snapdragon 845 mobile platform, with huge performance improvements across modem, CPU, GPU, ISP, AI, connectivity, security, audio, display support and various other sub systems. The Snapdragon 855 will be paired with the X50 5G model for 5G devices. The Snapdragon 855 platform along with the X50 5G modem will anchor Qualcomm’s technology and market share leadership in 2019. Qualcomm has continued its Windows 10 efforts and announced a strong Snapdragon 8cx platform.
