V2G or Vehicle-to-Grid capability has long been the aim for power companies in order to balance demand in the grid.  Power companies are encouraging EV users to sell the energy in their battery packs to cover peak demand in the grid and then to buy back energy from the grid when it’s time to drive home.  Without grid balancing and V2G capability, it would be challenging for power companies to meet the increased demands on the grid by EV users.  This insight looks at Nuvve, which is acting as an enabler in V2G between auto makers and power companies.
