Report Summary:

New detection requirements from the Euro-NCAP crash testing agency will lead to further advances being made in automotive cameras. These include higher dynamic range, greater sensitivity for low light capability, increasing resolution, wider angle Field of View and more rapid frame rates.  New automotive camera applications will also emerge, such as mirror replacement, pothole and speed bump detection and traffic light detection, to bring about changes in camera design.  This report also discusses new camera concepts, such as frameless imaging and liquid lenses.
