Strategy Analytics undertook a worldwide internet-based survey to investigate car owners’ interest in in-vehicle video streaming services.
A total of 4,782 car owners across the US (1,572), UK, France, Germany, Italy (1,678 in total), and China (1,532) were surveyed.
Consumers were asked about their interest in having access to video streaming services, such as Netflix in the US and Western Europe, and iQIYI, Youku-Tudou,Tencent Video in China, accessible for passengers at all times and for the driver when the vehicle is not in motion.
Overall, consumers in China are far more willing to have video streaming capability embedded in their cars –over half of them would either pay more or consider them a tie-breaker-, compared to both Europeans and Americans –just over a third-.
