Report Summary:

Strategy Analytics conducted focus groups with US consumers regarding their perspectives on data privacy and the connected car. Overwhelmingly participants were willing to share their location and vehicle data for safety-related applications such as V2V or to improve manufacturing processes. For app-like services, consumers expect a similar experience to smartphones but would like to see specific improvements made to that process. A lack of trust is at the forefront of their decision not to share, which can be alleviated by transparency and by companies using data only for its intended purposes.
