Strategy Analytics surveyed consumers in the US, Western Europe, and China regarding interest in connected apps and services for their car. Apps and services which provide drive-relevant information such as traffic and parking are most desirable to consumers in all regions. Differences in interest for “next level” apps such as social media readouts and customized internet radio are noted, particularly among certain tech adoption profiles. Consumers’ demands for connected apps in China are notably different than in Western countries, which will lead to opportunities and challenges for future cockpit design.
