Strategy Analytics conducted an expert evaluation of adaptive cruise control and traffic jam assist features in several 2015 model-year vehicles in order to construct a series of UX and HMI-focused best practices for these systems. However, in all systems a notification is not reliably provided when a subsystem fails. Recommendations include clear indication of system state at all times, clear control labeling, and avoidance of excessive warnings.
