Release 2.0 of the Digital Key standard by the Car Connectivity Consortium has led to the recent launch of NXP’s latest car access solution. It leverages on NXP’s automotive-qualified secure element and Near Field Communication chipsets. Unlike the first release of an NFC-based access system with the 2017 Mercedes-Benz E-Class, the new solution will be seamless and offer interoperability and back-compatibility with a variety of vehicle models, smartphone handset models and mobile operators.
