Report Summary:

As more electronic features enter new vehicles, the number of electronic control units, sensors and wiring required also increases.  Through existing vehicle architectures, this will lead to unsustainable levels of complexity, weight and cost to OEMs.  OEMs have realized that new vehicle architectures, involving centralized topologies, consolidating domain control modules and high bandwidth “backbones” will be necessary in order to develop future more complicated electronic systems, such as autonomous driving.
